For spring 2023, CBTL is announcing two delicious featured drinks, the Cardamom Cold Brew Coffee (with or without cream cap) and the caffeine-free Mango Ice Blended Drink. They will be available through May 30.
“The warmer weather of spring allows us all to spend more time enjoying and discovering the world around us, and we want to inspire our guests to do just that through our global flavors and ingredients with exciting new twists,” said Daniella Voysey, Head of Marketing, Americas, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. “The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is always innovating on new flavor profiles and is excited to usher in spring with beverages that spark wanderlust and adventure.”
Last year, in 2022, the spring launch gave us the Burnt Caramel Cold Brew Latte, but it is not returning this spring.
Cardamom Cold Brew Coffee
As with many other coffee shops, The Coffee Bean is doubling down on its cold beverage options. But, as they note, cold brew can be served both cold or hot.
Cardamom is a spice that mixes well with coffee. Although, this drink may remind you a bit more of the winter holidays than spring.
CBTL says of it, “A member of the ginger family, cardamom is an aromatic spice native to India and grows in many other tropical areas. A mix of sweet and spicy, with hints of citrus that is enhanced by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s premium Cold Brew. The signature Cold Brew Coffee is perfectly balanced with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s new cardamom syrup. Can be ordered hot or iced.”
Since the drink is made with their new cardamom syrup, you could also order that syrup in a latte, flat white, or many other drinks. (Get a similar cardamom syrup for home!)
If you stick with the cold option, you can also order this drink with a cream cap. The cream cap is CBTL’s version of Starbucks’ sweet cream cold foam, and Dutch Bros’ soft top.
Review
I went to my nearest Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (thankfully, they have recently opened a location in the Portland area) and tried out the Cardamom Cold Brew Coffee with their cream cap.
First, I should say that cardamom is one of my favorite spices. I use it as my “secret” ingredient in much of my baking. I also often top my homemade lattes with a sprinkle of cardamom, no matter what other flavors I have in the drink.
So yes, I did enjoy this cardamom cold brew. It tasted like you’d expect, a slightly sweet coffee with a noticeable taste of cardamom. I rarely drink coffee black, so the addition of the cream cap was a must-have for me.
Will you enjoy this drink? If you like cardamom, yes, if you don’t, nope.
If you’ve never had cardamom, I think it tastes like a sweeter, spicier cinnamon. So, if you like cinnamon dolce coffee drinks, give this one a try!
Mango Ice Blended Drink

The Mango Ice Blended drink is sure to be a fan favorite. It offers a mango-flavored caffeine-free alternative to CBTL’s Mango Cold Brew Tea.
The Coffee Bean says of it, “This new Ice Blended® Drink will take you on a creamy, dreamy tropical escape. A refreshing tropical mango cold drink made with real mango that is caffeine free and can be enjoyed any time of the day.”
The Ice Blended drinks are made with non-fat milk and a signature powder, then blended with ice and topped with whipped cream.
